Mr. Fuller is the President and founder of Fuller Development, LLC – since 2005, a leader in the investment, ownership, development, acquisition, redevelopment, construction, conversion and asset management of investment-quality real estate assets of all classes throughout the Northeast.
Mr. Fuller has over 34 years creating highly desirable sustainable developments in the communities in which he has worked.
While operating Fuller Development Mr. Fuller has been a sought-after expert serving in assignments with other national firms including
as Division President of Lennar Multi-family Communities, (now named Quarterra) responsible for re-organizing LMC’s development operations in the Mid Atlantic and Northeastern United States including, the cities and surrounding metropolitan areas of Washington DC, New York and Boston. The National Multifamily Housing Council has recognized LMC as the nation’s seventh-largest developer of multifamily housing in 2017. LMC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Lennar, the Nation’s largest homebuilder.
Mr. Fuller served as Executive Vice President of Development for the Northeast Region (including New York City and Boston) for Archstone (formerly ASN). During his tenure there, Mr. Fuller was responsible for building a northeast development pipeline in anticipation of Archstone’s planned IPO. Archstone was subsequently purchased by AvalonBay Communities, Inc. (AVB) and Equity Residential (EQR). At the time of the announcement of this acquisition Archstone had a development pipeline with a project cost of over $4.1 billion representing more than 13,000 apartment homes.
Mr. Fuller was the national Executive Vice President of Development and Construction for all of AvalonBay, a company he helped form in November 1993. Mr. Fuller was the chief executive responsible for overseeing a nationwide team, managing all aspects of the Company’s development investment and construction activity throughout the country.
Mr. Fuller joined the Northeast Group of Trammell Crow Residential (TCR) in 1989 and was the partner responsible for overseeing the development and acquisition of multifamily opportunities throughout Connecticut and New York. He was part of the group that took two divisions of TCR public in 1993 to become Avalon Properties, Inc., which later merged with Bay Apartments in 1998, to become AvalonBay Communities, Inc. Throughout his tenure with AvalonBay, and its predecessor companies, the company grew to become the second largest multi-family REIT in the country and now has a portfolio of 293 communities containing 88,405 apartment homes worth over $25 billion. Since going public in November 1993, Mr. Fuller’s team built over 20,000 apartment homes and redeveloped over 19,000 others. Under Mr. Fuller’s leadership the AvalonBay development and construction team became one of the leading developers and builders in the multifamily industry. In March 2005 Mr. Fuller accepted, on behalf of AvalonBay, The 2005 Development Firm of the Year Award given by the National Association of Homebuilders.
Mr. Fuller earned his Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School in 1989 and he earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire College of Engineering and Physical Sciences in 1983. Mr. Fuller has served on the Multi-Family Leadership Board of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). He serves on the Executive Committee of the Real Estate Finance Association, and was a member of the Urban Land Institute, where he has served on the Executive Committee of ULI Fairfield Westchester District Council.
